Jennifer Platt - Memorial Service May 28 2016

Jennifer Platt - Life Celebration May 28 2016

Jennifer Anne Platt, a kind-hearted, gentle soul with a cheery demeanour was always ready to help others - both individuals and groups. She took an active role in our church services at Cameron Community Church sharing her puppetry skills to engage youngsters with God's Word.

Jennifer was  born in a set of triplets and incurred a severe hearing impairment shortly after birth. She was a productive hardworking member of society despite this challenge. She lead a busy active life as the wife of an active political supporter and following her retirement from a public service position began volunteering with the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal.

After moving to Lindsay, Jennifer became a Mary Kay representative and enjoyed going the extra mile for her cleaning and dog walking clients. She would pick up groceries for clients, run errands, and take people to the hospital.

Jennifer earnestly sought after God. Jennifer hosted Bible studies in her home, and attended Bible Study and church services at Cameron Community Church as well as Omemee Christian Outreach, Salvation Army Temple Lindsay and Raven Ministries Canada in Lindsay where she also volunteered with children's ministry.
Jennifer's favourite Hymn was "Jesus Loves Me" and she delighted in reflecting the Love of Christ to others.

Jennifer enjoyed sharing her cooking skills contributing dishes to Cameron Community Church dinners and often brought gifts of food to others. Jennifer worked tirelessly to co-ordinate our first cookie exchange to benefit the Kawartha Lakes Homeless Shelter - A Place Called Home.

Jennifer also volunteered in the community at the Centre of Hope where  she often volunteered to drive Food Bank patrons home with their groceries. Jennifer also volunteered as a cheery Bell Ringer to raise funds for the Salvation Army each winter.

Her cheerful laughter and kind ways will truly be missed in Kawartha Lakes.

We are pleased to be taking part in the Memorial Service for Jennifer at the Salvation Army Temple in Lindsay along with Raven Ministries on Saturday May 28th 2016 at 2 pm.

  1. I first met Jennifer at Raven Ministries Bible study in Lindsay, then when we rented her basement flat, attended Cameron Community Church, Salvation Army, Omemee Outreach and Raven Ministries with her.
She had a true love for God and people.
I will always be grateful for the care and kindness she showed me when I was ripped apart by a dog and had to spend months sleeping in her living room on a hospital bed.
In the short time I knew Jennifer, she showed much love and kindness to many people.
    She truly cared for people.
